Zachary Fleischmann, 32, of Boonton, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Friday, April 22.
He was born in Paterson, NJ on March 6, 1990. He lived in Towaco and Montville for 18 years before settling in Boonton. His love of the outdoors started at birth since his parents always took him hiking. By age 2, his family purchased land in the Adirondack mountains in NY, where he later enjoyed riding his ATV and camping.
Zach loved astronomy and was able to identify the planets and constellations. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with everyone and seeing their amazement at his passion. He started his cooking career after high school and his hard work, training and talents molded him into an amazing chef. He was a former chef at the Rockaway River Country Club in Denville. His hard working skills paid off as cooking was his passion and he loved cooking his favorites for his family and friends. He was respected by his peers and to know him was to love him.
He was his 97 year old grandmother Cornelia’s caregiver for the past three years. He enjoyed going to NYC to explore new restaurants and comedy shows. He even dabbled in his own comedy as his dream was to become a comedian. He was always laughing, telling stories or perfecting his Italian accent. He was always willing to help and lend a hand to all who asked. He could fix anything and was always tinkering with a home project.
He is survived and will be sadly missed by his mother, Patricia of Boonton, and his sister, Carly and her husband, Nestor, of Ocala, Florida. He was also the loving grandson to his grandmother, Cornelia and his two cats, Ruby and Breezy. He is predeceased by his father, Vincent, who passed away in 2020. Zach was loved and cherished by anyone who met him.
A memorial service will be planned for June
