Rockaway Twp: Bill “Wimpy” Whittenbarger passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his home with his wife at his side. He was 75 years of age.
Bill was a house painter for many years and retired as a Limo driver. He was a member of the American Legion Post #91 of Wharton for 42 years. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967 and received an Honorable Discharge. He loved the NY Yankees and loved listening to the oldies, 50’s music.
Predeceased by his sister-in-law Nancy Filipski and her husband Bob.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Dottie (née Barzano). Also his brother-in-law and good friend, Butch Barzano and his wife Karen, their daughter Kara Wright and husband Josh. Sister-in-law, Kathie Messina and husband Sal, their daughter Tina Johnson and husband Andrew as well as their son Alexander. Niece, Mary Anne Tortorelli and husband Mike. Nephews Bobby & John Filipski. Also survived by many grand nephews, grandnieces & great grandnephew Keegan.
Visitation will be held 9-11am on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, 11am on Wednesday, immediately after the viewing.
Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
