Randolph – William G. Walters, 75, of Randolph, passed away Saturday at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover after a short battle with cancer.
William was born in Dover, NJ on February 19, 1948, the son of William and Grace Sharp Walters. He attended Dover High School and was formerly employed by the Morris County Tobacco and Candy Company in Dover and Suburban Propane of Whippany.
After high school, he joined the Air Force. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kenvil, NJ. He met his wife, Donna, in 1988 and lived in Randolph for 36 years.
William loved fishing, NASCAR and Busch races, and was an avid collector of memorabilia, stamps, and coins. He loved finding treasures at garage sales, flea markets and estate sales.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Gardner); a son, James Walters, of Tennessee; a daughter, Jennifer Citro, of Great Meadows, NJ; one sister, Aleta Whisner, of Tobyhanna, Pa, and two brothers, Michael Walters, of Florida, and Richard Walters of Towanda, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Dakoda Spalti, Anthony, Skyler, and Isabella Walters, and Morgan, Dylan, and Michael Walters, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by two brothers, Marvin and Dean Walters.
Visitation will be held 4-7pm on Wednesday January 16, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Service will be held 10am on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph.
