William J. Anderson, Jr.

Rockaway Township:  William J. Anderson, Jr. passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the New Jersey Firemen's Home in Boonton with his family at his side.  He was 87 years of age.

William was born and raised in Paterson to the late William J. Anderson, Sr. and Catherine Tebout before settling in Rockaway.

Mr. Anderson was a Machinist for American Radar of Denville for many years, retiring in 2005.

He was a 40 year member (1972 to 2012) of the Marcella Fire Company #3, Rockaway Township, serving as Chief in 1980.  Saving countless lives and taking great pride in serving the community.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren & great grandchildren.  He insisted on visiting family during the holidays.  As a single father, he went above and beyond.

Predeceased by:

Children:  Kathleen Anderson, Cindy Anderson & James Ronald Anderson.

Grandchildren:  Angel Vega & Ilir Ramadani.

Survived by:

Daughter:  Susan Rocco of Kenvil.

Grandchildren:  Lillian Rocco, William Rocco, Maria Rocco & Nicole Anderson.

Great Grandchildren:  Marcus Robinson & Analise Robinson.

Visitation will be held 2-5pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A Fireman’s Service will be held at 5pm at the funeral home, following the visitation.

The repass will be held at the Marcella Fire company #3, 20 upper Hibernia Rd, Rockaway, NJ 07866. All friends and family are welcome to attend. 

Interment will be private.
