Obituario de Tomasa Veliz

Dover: Tomasa Veliz de 85 años, de Dover, fallecio en paz la mañana del 26 de Diciembre del 2020. Tomasa nacio en Daule Ecuador el 28 de Febrero de 1935, hija de Miguel Mejia y Angela Barzola,

Tomasa tuvo ocho hijos, Gladys Moreno, Nelly Veliz , Norma Veliz, Pedro Veliz , Anita Veliz, Daniel Veliz, William Mora y Carmen Tobar, quarto yernos Hugo Moreno, Alejandro Tobar, Flavio Prieto, Melvin Hernandez, dos nueras  Rosario Veliz y Cecilia Veliz, 22 nietos y 20 bisnietos.

Ella vino a los Estados Unidos en 1987 gracias a su hija mayor Gladys y enseguida comenzó el proceso de traer a sus otros hijos a este país. Tomasa trabajó por muchos años en el restaurante Sizzler, al cual sus hijos y nietos les encantaba visitarla para comer alitas de pollo y helado, Ella se retiro a la edad de 67 años un poco antes de que el restaurante cierre su negocio. En su juventud Ella fue una costurera incansable.En este pais ella obtuvo una certificación de cuidado infantil lo que le permitió cuidar a sus nietos en su hogar,  también le encantaba el cultivo de vegetales, frutas, y flores en su propio jardin, era amante de las mascotas y cuidaba de cualquier animalito  que se acrecaba a su casa como conejitos, palomas y pajaritos, su útimo compañero de vida fue su querido perrito Bambam.

Por encima de todo la familia era lo mas importante para ella, y siempre será recordada por su  personalidad tan especial.

La extrañaremos  muchisimo. 

La visita se llevará a cabo de 4 a 6 p.m. el sábado 2 de enero, en la Funeraria Bermingham, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.  Un Servicio Funerario se llevará a cabo a las 6pm en la Funeraria.  El entierro se llevará a cabo en Daule, Ecuador en una fecha posterior.

 Dover: Tomasa Veliz, 85, of Dover, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 26, 2020.

Tomasa was born in Daule, Ecuador to Miguel Mejia and Angela Barzola. She moved to Dover, New Jersey in 1987 and then she began the process of migrating her family to the US. She worked at Sizzler where her children and grandchildren loved to visit her for their favorite wings and ice cream. She retired at the age of 67 shortly before the restaurant shut down.

Tomasa is predeceased by her daughter Norma Veliz, her son William Mora and her son-in-law Hugo Moreno. She is survived by her loving children, Gladys Moreno, Nelly Veliz, Pedro Veliz, Anita Veliz, Daniel Veliz, and Carmen Tobar, sons-in law Flavio Prieto, Alejandro Tobar and Melvin Hernandez, daughters-in-law Rosario Veliz and Cecilia Veliz, 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

In her younger years Tomasa was a tireless seamstress. She also obtained a childcare certification which allowed her to care for all her grandchildren in her home. In her later years, Tomasa found peace in gardening and growing her own produce. She was also a lover of all creatures and often nursed bunnies, birds, pigeons and more back to health. Her biggest companion in her late year was her dog BamBam. Above all family was the most important thing to her and she will forever be remembered for her caring and nurturing personality. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held 4-6pm on Saturday January 2, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.  A Funeral Service will be held 6pm at the Funeral Home.  Interment will held in Daule, Ecuador at a later date.
