Thomas A. McDermott

Wharton:  Thomas A. McDermott passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center with family at his side.  He was 78 years of age.

Thomas was born and raised in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn and has been a lifelong resident of Wharton since 1974.

Mr. McDermott was a Banker for Citibank in New York City for 35 years, retiring in 1999.

He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Wharton and the Knights of Columbus of St. Mary’s Church.

Thomas enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  He was proud of his HO model trains.

Predeceased by his siblings Patrick and Theresa McQuillan.

Survived by his wife of 51 years, Angela née Cataliotti.

Two Sons:

Thomas A. and his wife Mindy.

Christopher J.

Two Granddaughters:  Alessia & Emily.

Also survived by his siblings, Jim, Kay Mulhearn & Mary Sheplak.

Visitation will be held 5-9pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A funeral mass will be held 10am on Thursday at St. Mary’s Church, 371 S. Main St., Wharton (For GPS).

Interment will be private.
