Randolph: Theodore J. Stites went to be with his Lord on February 14, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 86 years of age.
Theodore was born in Dover, NJ in 1937 to Joseph and Edith Stites. He graduated from Dover High School and worked at Bell Labs / Lucent Technologies for 45 years. During his employment he was drafted and spent time serving in the U.S. Army in Korea. Upon his return he and his wife moved to Randolph where they lived for 60 years. During this time they lovingly raised their family. He enjoyed working and held many jobs during his retirement. He was a founding member, trustee, and financial secretary of Founders Baptist Church in Dover for many years. He loved bowling, stamp collecting, the Dodgers, Knicks, LA Rams, and ice cream.
He was predeceased by his brother David Stites.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Barbara Stites (nee Tobias).
4 children: Theodore J. Stites Jr. and his wife Elena, Norma Davis and her husband Steven,
Gary Stites and his wife Adele, and Deborah Stites.
4 grandchildren: Sandra, Theodore III, Lisa, and Nicole
and a sister Janet Maners of Richardson, TX.
Visitation will be held 10am-12pm on Tuesday February 20, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Service will be held at 12pm. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover.
