Wharton: Terry Vanderbilt passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St. Clare’s Hospital/Dover in the VNA Hospice. He was 68 years of age.
Terry was born in Denville and was raised in Rockaway and Boonton before settling in Wharton.
Mr. Vanderbilt was a shipping supervisor for Jan Packaging of Randolph for 22 years, retiring in December of 2021.
He was a member of the Morris Hills High School Football, Baseball and Basketball teams which carried over to his love of sports. He enjoyed playing billiards, watching all sports, especially the NY Jets and the NY Yankees. He liked listening to Oldies music and spending time with his family.
Terry is predeceased by his parents, James Vanderbilt and Lois Edna (née Ferrand) as well as his brothers, Jimmy & Michael and his sister Bonnie Sulter.
Terry leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Mary Ellen (née Sherwood). His cherished daughter, Jessie Vanderbilt and Daughter-In-Law, Sam Sherrard.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews and the Sherwood & Glennon Families of Wharton.
Visitation will be held 12 noon to 3:30pm on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton followed by a 3:30pm funeral service at the funeral home. The family requests that all who attend, please wear your favorite sports team clothing if possible.
Interment will be private.
