Stefan ( Steve ) Trusz passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Saint Clare's Hospital, Denville. He was 78 years old.
Steve was born in Pinsk, Poland after his family escaped German occupied Russia and then migrated to the United States with his family in the early nineteen fifties, then settling in Wharton in the mid nineteen fifties..
Steve was an Draftsman Die Sinker for McWilliams Forge Company for 37 years and later worked for the Dover Board of Education working in the transportation department. Steve was a 50 plus year member of the American Legion Post 91 in Wharton.
Steve was drafted during the Vietnam Conflict in 1963, stationed on the DMZ in Korea serving in the Field Artillery and Air Defense divisions.
Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice (Shultis); children daughter Amy, and son Stefan J daughter in law Deborah and grandson Cody James. He is also survived by his brother John Trusz ( his wife Joanne) of Bradenton, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was a man of few words with the heart and soul of an angel. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday, September 6th at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton.
Services will be held at Bermingham Funeral Home at 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 7th. Followed by burial at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
