Shirley M. Jordan (Ryan), passed away Tuesday afternoon October 6,
2020 in Dover, NJ at the age of 70. She was a wonderful wife, mother,
sister, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family, but
who know she is still with us in spirit and watching over us all with
that impish smile.
Shirley was born in Dover, NJ, grew up around Lake Hopatcong, and
attended Jefferson Township High School. She lived with her family
for the last 32 years in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania in
Winona Lakes.
She had a wry sense of humor, loved spending time with her family, and
adored her grandkids, nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and
nephews. She liked to spoil the family dog, Snickers, and loved
animals of all kinds, especially the many cats she adopted and cared
for over the years. She had a fondness for teddy bears, and also
collected snow globes, fenton glass, and elephant figurines. She also
liked to shop and enjoyed the Jersey shore, especially Cape May.
Shirley will be reunited in heaven with her parents, James and Lillian
Ryan, as well her brother, James Ryan Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; son Michael, former wife Susan,
and their daughters, Samantha, Danielle, and Cassidy of Nazareth, PA;
son Scott, his wife Carolyn, and daughters Sara and Cayla of Floral
Park, NY; and son Brian of East Stroudsburg, PA; sister Kathy Ackerman
and her husband Hank of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; sister Jeannie Brown and
her husband Ron of Newton, NJ; sister Colleen Runne of Bartonsville,
PA; sister-in-law Lynn Ryan of East Stroudsburg, PA; as well as 9
nieces and nephews; and 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Visitation will be held 11:00 am - 12:30 pm on Tuesday October 13,
2020 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A
funeral service will immediately follow, followed by procession to the
burial at Locust Hill Cemetery at 1 pm
