Rockaway Township: Sandra “Sandy” Weber passed away quietly in her sleep on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.
Sandy was born in Dover, NJ and was raised in Flanders on Emmans Road. After meeting the love of her life, Fred Weber, they married in 1956 and moved to Rockaway Township in 1960 where they built their home and raised their family.
Sandy worked for Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator. She left the workforce to raise her family, and returned to work at J.C. Penny’s at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall where she was a Life Associate in the Personnel Office, retiring in 2002 after over 25 years of service.
Sandy was a member of the Birchwood Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed participating in the Bowling League at Circle Lanes in Ledgewood. The greatest joy of her life was being a mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Weber in 2019 and leaves behind four beloved children;
Dawn McEvoy and husband Art of Dingmans Ferry, PA.
David Weber and wife Victoria of Blairstown.
Doreen Sabatino and husband Gary of Boonton.
Dane Weber and wife Lori of Jefferson Township.
Nine cherished grandchildren; Colin McEvoy and wife Lynn, Eric Weber and wife Katie, Eileen Teehan and husband Sean, Alex Weber and wife Holly, Rebecca Weber and fiancée Michael Pena, Jilian Sabatino, Lindsay Weber, Joshua Sabatino, and Andrew Weber.
Seven dear great grandchildren, Connor McEvoy, Taylor Weber, Benedict Weber, Logan McEvoy, Harrison Weber, Blake Teehan, and Hanna Weber. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Kaar of Bangor, PA, and her sisters-in-law Renate Weber and Brenda Peterson.
Visitation will be held 4-8pm on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.
A funeral service will be held 11am on Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
