Obituary

Roxbury Township: Ronald Joseph Kiesche, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, from Lower Berkshire Valley, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2023 at 82 years old. He was born September 4, 1940, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

He graduated from Ridgefield Park High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

For 30 years Ronald worked for Hershey Foods, in both sales and district management. Proud of the company he worked for, he visited Hershey Park often with his family. Later, he served as a substitute teacher in both Randolph and Roxbury Public School districts. Ron gave back to the community in many ways, including being a member of the Roxbury Environmental Commission.

Ron was an active member of the St. Therese Parish Community where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, a prayer group member and a CCD teacher. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ron will be remembered for his strong faith and immense love of his family. He brought love and light to the many lives he touched. He was well known for his unique sense of humor and his big smile.

He loved his country and was a proud Navy Veteran. He was instrumental in volunteering at many community events. Ron always looked to help others and enjoyed offering advice. He also loved to organize games at family reunions.

Ron was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2018, but he remained active. He enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, Ruth. Every day, he cherished his children and grandchildren. He always stayed young at heart. He loved designing his elaborate model train set display, and he was passionate about gardening and yard work.

He was predeceased by his parents Angelica Kiesche and Frederick P. Kiesche Sr., and his siblings Frederick P. Kiesche Jr. and Carol Brower. He is survived by his sisters Jackie DiStasio and Audrey Colgrove, as well as his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Ann Kiesche. They have five wonderful children, Barb Platz, Tom Kiesche, Daryl George, Brian Kiesche and Paul Kiesche as well as ten grandchildren who Ron always inspired to be “strong women.”
