Rita M. (Lawrence) Klinger

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Mary Klinger, age 84, on August 18, 2025.

Born at Dover General Hospital in New Jersey, Rita was a lifelong resident of the community she treasured so deeply. A proud graduate of Morris Hills Regional High School, she went on to  dedicate over 50 years as a beloved school bus driver for the very same district—transporting generations of students, including her own children, with care, patience, and a warm smile.

Rita was the devoted mother of four children: Scott Klinger (married to Mary Ellen), Kevin Klinger (married to Kathryn), Sheri Klinger, and Brian Klinger (married to Rebecca). She was the proud grandmother of Ashley Dabb, Zachary Klinger (married to Becky), Jordan Klinger, Allison Klinger, Jack Klinger, Owen Klinger and Nicholas Klinger. Her greatest joy in recent years came from being the great-grandmother of Camden and Logan Klinger.

Rita’s life was rooted in love, family, and service. She will be remembered for her kind and playful spirit, her unwavering devotion to those she loved, her quiet strength, and the countless lives she touched in her community, especially the students who rode her bus each day.

In lieu of a formal service, those who wish to honor Rita’s memory may donate to one of her most cherished causes: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Her warmth, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
