Richard E. Dodd

Port Murray, NJ:  Richard E. Dodd passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 15th, 2022 at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. He was 64 years of age.

Richard was born in Dover, NJ and lived in Wharton, NJ during his early years. The last 23 years he has lived in Port Murray, NJ.

Mr. Dodd graduated from Morris Hills and began his career in HVAC. After exploring multiple opportunities he started his own successful company, DT Mechanical.

He was loved by all who worked for him.  Richard enjoyed traveling and new experiences, working in the yard and spending time with his family. He loved having all the latest technology and keeping up with current events. Richard always had a wide variety of pets, his latest being his pride and joy, Arya. He will be missed for his love of bringing the family together for every occasion, his dry sense of humor and great one-liners, and being there to help out anyone, at anytime no questions asked.

Predeceased by his sister Jodi Dodd, his mother Dolores Dodd, his father C.Richard Dodd and sister Connie Dodd.

Richard is survived by his children, daughters Nicole Dodd of Chatham, Brittany Dodd of Allamuchy and sons Joshua Tanis of Belvidere and Zachary Tanis of Stanhope. Also survived by, Patricia Piatt and many friends and family.

A memorial visitation will be held 12 Noon to 2pm on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, NJ 07885.  A short prayer service at the funeral home will conclude the visitation at 2pm.

Interment will be private.
