Tuckerton: Raymond "Ray" Heagele, devoted Husband and Loving Father/Grandfather.
Raymond Heagele, age 80, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Southern Ocean Medical Center.
Born in Cranberry, NJ on October 5, 1943 to Raymond and Stella Heagele. As a young boy, Ray learned the value of hard work as he worked on his family farm. Shortly after high school, he joined the Air Force in 1964 which gave him the financial opportunity to further his education. He graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in education, and then went on to complete his Masters degree at Trenton State College. He had a 25 year career as a history teacher and school administrator.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine; his three sons: Christopher (Donna), Michael (Marli), Jeffrey (Barb); his step-son Allen Wilson (Mae); and 9 grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents; his brother Harold; his sister Linda; step-daughter, Cynthia Wilson (Michael); 2 grandchildren.
Ray enjoyed the outdoors. He took pride in his yard, especially his vegetable garden, which was admired by his entire neighborhood. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his annual fishing trips with his boys and grandkids. He enjoyed golf and was a true Philadelphia Eagles fan. His integrity, hard work, and love of family will continue to be an inspiration for all.
Visitation will be held 2-4:30pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, NJ 07885.
A funeral service will be held 4:30pm, after the visitation, also at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
