Mine Hill: Piotr Kowal from Stalowa Wola, Poland, took a leap of faith to America twenty years ago, along with his wife Izabela and their two sons, Szymon and Mateusz, hoping to change his family's life. He worked hard his entire life with the ambition to call something his own. He stumbled upon a little house in Mine Hill. There, it all began: ideas of planting a tree! Dreams of owning a shop and creating a legacy to look after. At age 56, he had developed a family that loves and cares for each other, one that, during the pandemic, left their safe space to help make his dream a reality—starting Pete&S Automotive Service, where many had the pleasure of knowing him. Man of thick skin but kind heart, stubborn yet fair. He always did good to anyone who walked through his doors. Piotr saw his boys become men, welcome his grandchildren, and become successful business people while ensuring family bonds remained. He might not be here with us, but his presence made a mark that will not be forgotten. Thank you, Piotr. May you oversee the fruits of your labor and the joy of loved ones.
A memorial Mass will be held 10am on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at St. Mary's Church, Wharton.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Mine Hill.
