Wharton: Phyllis Damiano passed away peacefully on April 6, 2021. She was 97 years of age.
Phyllis was born in Lodi and lived in Clifton for many years before moving to Wharton. She worked as a greeter at Caldor in Ledgewood and also as a cashier at Fashion Bug in Rockaway. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Wharton, Mine Hill Good Years Club and the Wharton Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph N. Damiano, granddaughter Phylicia L Suitt and sisters; Vita Gower and Antonina Pietras and brother Thomas Corona.
She is survived by Daughter; Pauline Damiano, Son; Joseph Damiano, 4 grandchildren; Jennifer Guilmette and her husband Richard, Michelle Fumosa and her husband Joseph, Joseph Damiano and his wife Krista and Jessica Damiano, 5 great-grandchildren and sister Concetta Sferruzza.
Visitation will be held 9-9:30am on Tuesday April 13, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Mass will be held 10am at St. Mary’s Church in Wharton. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
