Peter J. Mertz

Wharton:  Peter J. Mertz, resident of Wharton, NJ passed away on June 12, 2026 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville.

He was born in Lancaster, PA, son of the late Whitford V. Mertz and Thelma Davis.

He was predeceased by his wife Dee in 2024.

He is survived by daughter Stephanie A. Mertz, son Stephen J. Mertz, 2 granddaughters; Whitney A. Ball and Kyleigh R. Kusek.

Visitation will be held 4-8pm on Thursday June 18, ath the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. The Funeral Service will held 7pm.  Burial will be held 12 noon, Fiday June 19, at the Honey Brook United Methodist Cemetery in Honey Brook PA.
