Peter J. Butler

Belvidere - Peter J Butler (also lovingly know as PJ) passed away on November 25, 2019 after a short battle with Pancreatic cancer. He was 54 years young.

PJ was born in Dover and raised in Wharton. After moving around, PJ finally put roots down in Belvidere, NJ where he was a very active member in the community. PJ attended Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, Warren County Community College and Montclair State University. PJ was very involved with the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA). He also had his own animal balloon twisting business called Dr. Duck. PJ could be found volunteering at local events such as Belvidere's National Night Out, Victorian Day and other events as well. He was also a Warren County poll worker.

PJ is survived by his mother Patricia (Bartlett) Butler of Belvidere, and his two sisters Lisa Van Ness and husband John of Mine Hill and Robyn Lance and husband Bryan of Wharton. He is also survived by his nieces Jenna Van Ness and Meghan Lance along with nephew Liam Van Ness.

PJ was predeceased by his father Floyd "Pete" Butler of Wharton who passed in 2005.

Peter will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the community he so greatly impacted. Per Peter’s request, there will be no funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced which will be posted on the funeral home website.
