Parsippany: Patricia A. Sevret passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023 at the VNA Hospice, Dover General Hospital. She was 81 years of age.
Pat was born and raised in Dover to the late Joseph L. Sherwood and Alice née Tierney. She lived in the Mt. Hope section of Rockaway after her marriage and also raised her children there. She moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 1995 and lived there for over 25 years, recently moving to Parsippany a year ago.
Mrs. Sevret was an executive secretary for Exxon of Florham Park, retiring in 1993.
She was a member of Christ the King Church of Lexington. She loves to sit with Jesus for a hour every week in the Adoration Chapel there. She brought her children up in St. Mary’s Church in Wharton, NJ. Patricia moved to Lexington, KY and had the privilege of wonderful neighbors that became family. She enjoyed watching all their kids grow up and attended all celebrations from birth to College! She was the neighborhood Grandma, Miss Pat. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2018. Until it got worse, she loved gardening, cutting her own grass, dancing, loud music and just laughing. We are blessed that Mom remembered all of us until her death.
Predeceased by her husband, LT. John J. “Jack” Sevret of the Rockaway Township Police Dept., who passed in 1982. Also predeceased by her brothers, Joseph & Paul Sherwood.
