Dover: Patricia A. (Derk) Brower died peacefully on June 4th, 2022 at Morristown Memoral Hospital after battling over a year with Stage 4 cancer and mulitple complications surrounded by her family. She was 66.
Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland to the late Joseph and Alice (Smith) Derk. The family moved to Wharton, New Jersey where she grew up. She graduated from Morris Hills High School in 1974 and married her high school sweetheart whom she met in 1972, Neal Brower in 1976. They lived in Denville, and then later moved to Hopatcong where they started their family. They settled in Rockaway Township to raise their children in 1990.
Patti was a past Chaplain for the William J Hocking Jr. American Legion Post 91, in Wharton, New Jersey and a former hairdresser in Budd Lake at the Head Factory. She was an aide in the Rockaway Township School System for 6 years and retired earlier this year from Montclair Radiology after 21 years.
Patti was very involved in her children's activities; from being her son's loudest and most faithful fan in the bleachers at his hockey games and tournaments to being her daughter's Township softball coach for 9 years and Girl Scout Troop Leader for 8 years.
She is survived by her soul mate, Neal Z., her son Shane (Pam) of Hackettstown, New Jersey and daughter Paige Wiegand (Dean) of Corry, Pennsylvania. Patti is also survived by her brothers, Joseph of Cheboygan, Michigan and Kevin of Long Pond, Pennsylvania. She leaves behind her 3 granddaughters Rylee Brower, Tennyson Wiegand and Harlow Wiegand, nicknamed "my little deuce". She's also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends that cherished her.
Visitation will be held 10:00am-11:30am on Saturday July 16, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30am at the Funeral Home.
