Nancy (McCarthy) Helbourg

Nancy Helbourg, 47, lost her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on June 16, 2022

Nancy was born on 12/25/74 to Patrick and Christene McCarthy.

Nancy graduated from North Bergen HS and would go onto William Paterson College where she would later meet her future husband, Keith Helbourg.

Nancy dedicated her life to Education.  Her career spanned 24 years in multiple schools teaching Mathematics.  Her last years were at Passaic Valley Regional High School.

She served on The Rockaway Township Board of Education from 2017-Present.

Nancy enjoyed playing/watching softball, coaching, going on vacations with family, the shore, taking hikes and Geocaching.  What Nancy loved most was sharing a bottle of wine with good friends and breaking bread with family.

 Nancy was diagnosed with Leukemia AML 4/24/21. Nancy battled like a true warrior.  As one of her favorite songs said “She got knocked down but she got up again”

Nancy left behind her Husband Keith and their 2 children Jacklyn and Zachary, and her loving dogs Star and Buzz.   Her Parents Patrick and Christene McCarthy.  Her Brother Marc and Wife Yana and their 4 Children.  Countless Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

We will be having a Celebration of Life for Nancy at Germania Park on Sunday July 31 from 2-6pm

Please donate blood.  It is in very low supply and it kept Nancy going during her battle with Cancer.
