Milton Thomas Felter

Jefferson Township:  Milton Thomas “Lefty” Felter passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2024 with his family by his side. He was 91 years of age.

Milton was born in Paterson, NJ and graduated from Dover High School. He was a US Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1956. He settled in the Lake Shawnee section of Jefferson Township in 1960 and has been there ever since.

Mr. Felter was a Central Office Installer for Western Electric for more than 40 years until his retirement in 1995. Milton was an active member of the Lake Shawnee community. He served in many capacities over the years, from being a member of various committees to serving on the Board of Governors. He also was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Lake Hopatcong.

He loved attending Rutgers football games as a season ticket holder. He also enjoyed playing tennis and vacationing with his family in Cape May every summer for more than 30 years.

Predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Joan E. (née Quent).

Survived by his four Daughters all of Jefferson Twp:

Dawn Felter and partner André Juzwin.

Sharon Hardin and husband Robert.

Lisa Felter.

Susan Felter.

Also survived by two granddaughters: Sarah Juzwin and Heather Hardin.

Visitation will be held 1-3pm on Sunday, September 29 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A funeral service will be held, 3pm at the funeral home after the visitation.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Lake Shawnee Club or American Heart Association.
