Michael L Grove of Lake Hopatcong, NJ passed away April 29, 2021, at the age of 42.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jessica and their five dogs Laney, Haley, Clark, Kobe, and Belle. He also leaves his sister, Lynn Allen, and her children Kaylie and Kyle of Port Saint Lucie, FL. He is predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Gail Grove.
Mike grew up and decided to make his home with his wife in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. He often recalled prized memories of growing up on the lake and the mischief he raised with his group of friends. His favorite story was boating on the lake, he was driving while Lynn was tubing and he took a sharp turn causing her to fly off the tube straight into a buoy and somehow, she still manages to say he was the best brother anyone could have had. He enjoyed camping and hiking with his family, music, and stand-up comedy. Mike was a past member of the Jefferson Township Rescue squad. He was the most generous person and would give the shirt off his back to anyone.
Mike was a talented and dedicated dog trainer, owner of Sound of Silence Dog Training. Dog training was a passion he discovered after recovering from countless back surgeries. He has been described by some of his clients as a true dog whisperer, a wizard, amazing, he is worshipped by dogs. He helped countless dogs become the pets that owners desired by teaching the owners how to properly communicate with their dog and become the leader their dogs needed. He had a remarkable understanding of dogs, their behaviors, and how to achieve the desired result for each different dog he worked with.
Mike will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched. Donations in his memory can be made to Randolph Regional Animal Shelter.
Services will be private.
