Wharton: Merrilyn was born in East Orange and was raised in Rockaway. She attended Morris Hills HS and County College of Morris. She worked as a social worker for DYFS, retiring after 25 years of service. During her later years she worked at the Dover Free Public Library for 3 years before she became ill.
Merrilyn enjoyed traveling and was very proud she climbed Machu Picchu, Peru.
She enjoyed teaching English as a Second Language to adults and spoke fluent Spanish.
She was a Master Gardner and enjoyed photography and jewelry making.
Predeceased by her parents, Arthur Albert and Ann Fay (née Wedekemper).
Survived by:
Two daughters: Jenine Mason and Michele Meikle.
Three Grandchildren: Anthony, William & Rebecca.
Sister: Doris Milliken.
Cousins: Linda Deurer and David Hartman.
