Maureen (nee Judd) Gaeta
Maureen C. Gaeta of Upper Pottsgrove, PA (formerly of Dover, NJ) passed away July 31, 2022, at the Pottstown Hospital after a brief illness. Born in London, England, before immigrating to the United States 67 years ago after the marriage to her late husband, Frank Gaeta. Retiring in 2000 from Dover
Maureen “Renee” as she was known to most, loved to paint and all of her children’s walls are covered with her artwork. She handmade greeting cards and would send them out for Holidays or Birthdays or any special occasion. She was a prolific reader, mostly of mystery novels, finishing a book a day. She loved playing scrabble and always reminded everyone to never call her on her phone when Jeopardy was on. Loved cooking and always made sure a home cooked meal was prepared for anyone who would arrive at her house on any given Sunday. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and always welcomed their visits.
Surviving are her children, Stephanie Gaeta Marks (the late Dan Marks) of Upper Pottsgrove, PA, Francis Gaeta (Sheila) of Bushkill, PA, Vincent Gaeta of Columbia, NJ, Michele Gaeta Fish (Thomas) of Pottstown, PA and Stephanie “Stevie” Kenny of Canvey Island, England. One brother, William Judd of London, England and one Sister, Betty Shultz of Milton Keynes, England. Her eleven grandchildren: Caitlin Bencel of Chicago, Ill, Kelly Bencel Sweeney (Chris) of Clermont Florida, Andrew Bencel of Nazareth, PA, Ethan Bencel of Pennsburg, PA, Samantha Gaeta of Philadelphia, PA, Francis Gaeta, Jr. of Bushkill, PA, Emily Fish, Tyler Fish, Kaely Fish all of Pottstown, PA, Kelly Kenny Whittle of Benfleet, England, Amanda Goodwin (Michael) of Canvey Island, England. Five great grandchildren: Grace and Emily Whittle of Benfleet, England, Toby and Sebastian Goodwin of Canvey Island, England and Rowan Sweeney of
Clermont, Florida. And let’s not forget her three cats, Amos, Charlie and Andy that she “timeshared” with her daughter Stephanie, who was also her neighbor.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank Gaeta and daughter Denise Gaeta Bencel (Joseph) of Quakertown, PA and sisters, Catherine and Gwen, both of London, England.
A visitation will be held 2-6pm on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, NJ 07885. A funeral service will be held at 6pm following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
