Jefferson Township: Mary Pisarchuk fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at home. She was 87 years old.
Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 12, 1936. She is the daughter of Sydney Ames and Nadia Ames. She graduated from Brooklyn College and was an elementary school teacher in Lindenhurst, NY. She raised her family in Kenvil, NJ. Later, she was employed by the State of New Jersey, working with children with developmental disabilities. Upon retirement, she resided in the Oak Ridge, NJ section of Jefferson Township.
Mary was musically gifted. She was a classical pianist and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She devoted her life to studying the Holy Scriptures.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Christensen and husband David, and grandson, Thomas. Her son Andrew Pisarchuk predeceased her.
Burial will be private at St. Vladimir’s Russian Orthodox Christian Cemetery in Jackson, NJ.
