Mary Manfredonia passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at Merry Heart Nursing Center on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. She was 97 years of age.
Mary was born in Dunmore, PA., on October 7, 1928. She grew up working on the family farm, as well as the family-owned gas station. As a young adult, Mary later moved to the Randolph and Dover area, where she remained a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Manfredonia worked last as a wirer and solderer for Transistor Devices, Inc. of Randolph, retiring in 1995 after 18 years of service.
Mary has been a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Dover. She was passionate about the arts, and in her younger years, she loved going into New York City to dance and to attend shows. In more recent years, she began collecting dolls, and had quite an extensive collection. Mary loved to cook and was well known for her delicious Italian cuisine, and most especially her famously delicious homemade cheesecake.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, James Palermo and Anna Palermo (née Panzica), her loving sister, Carmella Kaschak, her loving brothers, Frank Palermo, Ross Palermo, Sam Palermo, Joseph Palermo, and Arthur Palermo.
Mary was known for her always-positive demeanor, never failing to offer a smile and a compliment to all she encountered, and was a joy to be around.
She is survived by her cherished son, Salvatore Manfredonia, and her many nieces and nephews, who were active participants in her life. She also had many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, NJ, 07885.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church, 4 Richards Ave., Dover, NJ., 07801.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Randolph.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mary’s memory to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
