Martha (Makosky) Kostuchik

Succasunna:  Martha Kostuchik (née Makosky) passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at St. Clare’s Hospital/Denville.  She was 95 years of age.

Martha was born in the Mt. Hope section of Rockaway Twp. and lived in Scrub Oaks Village in Mine Hill from 1946 til 1959 when she moved to Succasunna.

Mrs. Kostuchik worked at M&M Mars in Hackettstown and as a waitress at Alexis Diner in Denville for many years before retiring in 1998.

Parishioner of St. Therese’s Church, Succasunna.  She volunteered at the Social Services office in Roxbury Twp for many years.

Predeceased by her husband Peter in 2007 as well as her siblings, Paul, Michael & Catherine Ruiz.

Survived by her children:

John and wife Rosemarie of Succasunna.

Marlene Engstrom of Los Alto, CA.

Ellen Dunn and husband Jim of Succasunna.

Four Grandchildren:

Seth Engstrom and wife Kelly.

Matthew Romaine and wife Abby.

Jeff Dunn and wife Juanita.

Noah Dunn.

Four Great Grandchildren:  Nora, Micaela, Kayla & Jonas.

Also survived by her brother John Makosky and his wife Stella.

Visitation will be held 3-6pm on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A funeral mass will be held 10am on Tuesday at St. Therese’s Church, Succasunna.

Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to St. Therese’s Church, Succasunna.
