Marta A. Diaz

Dover:  Marta A. Diaz, WITA,  beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

Marta was born on 10/11/31 in Jaragueca, Las Villas, Cuba.  She was the youngest of 4 children born to Marta Henriquez Mendez and Lorenzo R. San Gil.  She married the love of her life, Guillermo Diaz in 1951.  They had 2 sons who she doted on.  Marta migrated to the United States on March 7, 1966.

Here she spent 58 years.  Most of those years in Dover.  She worked at Tenco, Tetley Division in Morris Plains, for over 20 years.  

Wita was an awesome cook.  Everything she made came out delicious.  People raved over her empanadas, croquetas, flan, tortilla española, chicken soup, and her puerco frito con congris.  

Wita's favorite place was anywhere her sons and grandkids were.  She enjoyed taking the grandkids to play Pokemon.  She was especially proud of their educational achievements.  

Once she had great grands she bragged about them to everyone.  3 boys and 2 girls she would say proudly. 

Marta was predeceased by her parents, husband, and siblings Modesto, Ana and Arminda.  Those left behind to mourn her loss are sons, Guillermo (Rosanna) , Frank (Dolores) grand children, Frank, Michael, Richard (Samantha) Kevin (Melissa), and Amanda Llobet ( Joey) and her 5 cherished great grand children. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10AM to 12PM at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, followed by a prayer service at 12 o’clock and interment at Locust Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marta's memory to the Morristown County Nutrition Program, 320 Hanover Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960 would be appreciated.
