Mt. Arlington, NJ: Marion J. Pennino (née Needham), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 85 passed away peacefully on July 22, 2020. Born on July 13, 1935, Marion lived in Newark, NJ, where she attended West Side High School. While in high school Marion met her future husband to whom she was married for 69 years. Together they raised four children in Newark and Fairfield before later moving to Wharton.
Marion is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph, and her three sons Joseph (Pat) of Lake Norman, NC, Michael (Susan) of Bracey, VA and Gerald (Lorraine) of Oak Ridge, NJ. She is predeceased by her daughter Debora Kubek. Marion was a proud grandmother to 9 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 5 great-grandchildren.
Marion was well loved as a strong presence in her family and beyond. She supported her children and grandchildren while attending many special life events. She greatly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events where she was well known as their best cheerleader. Marion also leaves behind many dear friends with whom she spent countless hours enjoying and supporting the New Jersey Elks causes and various missions. Most recently, she was also a member of the Mt. Arlington Seniors.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In her memory, donations can be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital or the Special Children’s Fund in care of: Lake Hopatcong Elks, 201 Howard Boulevard, Mt. Arlington, NJ 07856.
