Marguerite "Peggy" (Leyden) Sabia

Marguerite “Peggy” A. Sabia (nee Leyden), 81 of Lake Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband Paul T. of 39 years, and her sisters Marion Carroll and Janice Smith. Devoted mother of Paul F. Sabia (Bonnie) and cherished grandmother of Colin and Nicholas. She is survived by her sister Rosemary Lynch along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marguerite was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1939. She graduated from Jersey City State College with a teaching degree. Marguerite enjoyed her career as an elementary school teacher until she met her future husband and settled in Lake Hopatcong where she became a mother and homemaker.

Marguerite was very thankful to the donor and their family for the kidney that she received in 2011. This transplant gifted her many more years to live and be able to enjoy her grandchildren and watch them grow up.

Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at 10:30am at Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mount Arlington. Following the mass, she will be laid to rest in Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover.
