Lucretia "Laura" Acquaviva, matriarch of the LaMastro family, died on November 17, 2020 at home in the loving arms of her children. She was just shy of 103 years old. Her life was well lived. She cared for her family, immediate and extended. She was an example of the greatest qualities in a person with her care, compassion, kindness, strength, grace, humble faith and, above all, her love. Lucretia was born in Hoboken, NJ where she grew up, then met and married the love of her life Anthony. They had 5 children together and moved to Wharton where they raised and provided them with a wonderful childhood. She was a seamstress and a crossing guard for St. Mary's School, but her main and most successful career was raising her children with compassion and love. She spent her last twelve years living in Morris Plains with her daughter and even at the age of 90 she made new friends to join the many friendships she had already established through the years. God blessed us with our mother. We are so proud of her and respect the graceful way she aged in life. Although our mother has died, our love for her never will.
Laura was predeceased by her loving husband, Anthony, her parents and her siblings; Felicia, Anna, Mike, Millie, Vito & Josie, her loving son-in-law Frits van Geuns and her grandson Joseph Tucker.
