Mine Hill: Lowell King Walker passed away at his home on Sunday, October 1, 2023 with his loving wife and family at his side. He was 91 years of age.
Lowell was born in Port Morris, NJ and was raised in the Kenvil section of Roxbury Township, spending the last 29 years living in Mine Hill.
He was very proud of serving 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean War and served on the USS Ault, an Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer.
Growing up during the Depression and World War 2, he was a family provider and quite the handyman, teaching his children about working with tools and the importance of taking care of things we own.
Lowell worked his entire career at Picatinny Arsenal and was a Program Analyst when he retired at the age of 55 after 36 years of service in 1987.
Being retired for 35 years, he was an active member at the Picatinny Golf Club for many years, collecting a cabinet full of Solo and Husband and wife trophies. He enjoyed his days driving around with JoAnn looking for new places to eat, meeting new people and developing friendships.
Predeceased by his parents, Thomas Walker and Margaret King as well as his brother, Thomas.
Lowell is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, JoAnn (née Cral).

Three Grandchildren: Jonathan, David & Stephen.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially Sophia, for whom he and JoAnn provided loving “daycare” from infancy to high school age, along with extended family members and friends who loved him.
Visitation will be held 4-7pm on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.
A funeral mass will be held 9:30am on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, Dover.
Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
