Leon Joseph Grant
Dover: It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Leon (Lee) Joseph Grant, of Dover, NJ on May 10, 2023, at the age of 74.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Anita; children: Daniel (wife Erica) and David (wife Sandy); granddaughter Amalia; and grand-dog Linus, as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents Leon and Mary Grant.
Leon was born in Dover, NJ and was raised in Rockaway, NJ. He attended and graduated from Oratory Prep School in Summit, NJ in 1967, he continued his education at Saint Bernard College in Cullman, Alabama and later obtained his master’s degree from Seton Hall University. Upon graduation, he started his career as a teacher only to leave for his industrial passions and the love for working with his hands. Over the years he had a number of jobs, but the job he was most passionate about was being a father. His love for his family and passion to always provide a helping hand will be missed by all. Later in his life, Leon became a cycling enthusiast. He loved and enjoyed riding his short- and long-range electric bikes, speeding around Morris County at speeds up to 30 miles an hour! The excitement and passion for riding his electric bikes will remain unforgettable and missed. In his own words and infamous farewell “Drive slow and be careful.”
