Kathleen H. (Horan) Carter

Kathleen “Kathy” Horan Carter recently passed away on 6/21/24 from cardiac arrest following a series of health complications. She passed away in her home in Rockaway, NJ at 62 years old. 

Kathy was born and raised in Dover, NJ and was a member of the historic Horan family in Dover, the daughter of the late Joseph Horan and Irene Horan (née Stefanic). She graduated from Dover High School in 1979 and then went on to attend Dover Business College. She was a longtime employee of Stephen Gould Corporation in Whippany, NJ where she worked as a billing editor for the majority of her career. 

In her spare time, Kathy loved nothing more than relaxing on the beach on a sunny day, or enjoying a classic rock concert with friends. Kathy was a lover of music, animals, and a dedicated New York Mets and Jets fan.

Kathy is survived by her two children, Bryan Carter and Lara Carter, her siblings Robert “Bob” Horan and Mary Ann Petzinger, and her nieces Diana Mathews and Shanna Horan. 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 27th from 5-8 PM at Bermingham Funeral Home located at 216 S Main St, Wharton, NJ 07885. A funeral mass to honor her life will be held on Friday, June 28th at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church of Wharton/Dover at 425 W Blackwell St, Dover, NJ 07801. Following the Mass, Kathy will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park, 77 DeForest Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
