Wharton: Juliann May (Shazer) passed away on August 6, 2021 at St.Clares Hospital in Dover. She was 71 years of age.
She was born and raised in Wharton by the late John and Dorothy Shazer. She went to Curtis school, Morris Hills high school, CCM and St. Joseph’s in Paterson for her X-ray license.
She was a registered nurse and worked with Dr.Finkle in Dover for many years then at Morristown Oral Surgeons for 30 years. She worked a few more years for Bayada as a home care nurse before retiring.
She was a member of St.Mary’s Church in Wharton and even taught CCD there for more than a decade. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and a Cub Scout pack leader as well. She was a 2 time past county president for the Women’s Auxiliary at the American Legion, post 91 in town.
She is predeceased by her husband of 30 years, William (Bill) May, her two sisters Eileen and Dorothy and a few nephews and nieces.
She is survived by her son William (Bill) May and daughter Kimberly May as well as 3 grandchildren, Robert, Olivia and Aiden and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 5-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10am on Thursday August 12, 2021.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven in East Hanover.
