Joyce "Jane" (Webb) Lewis

Joyce, better known as “ Jane”,  left this world on June 21, 2022 surrounded by her family.  Joyce was born in Dover NJ on August 5th 1956 to Warren and Joyce      Webb.  She was also known as Mom, Aunt Jane, friend, mentor and her favorite Nana.  Jane is survived by her loving husband David J. of 45 years, and children David A. and Joyce M.  She also leaves behind her son in law Joe, daughter in law Sheri, and two granddaughters, Samantha and Jordyn.

Joyce was raised in Lake Hopatcong and graduated from Jefferson Township High School 1975.  She had several careers that included retail and group tours.  Joyce’s passion for travel inspired her to own and operate Detour Travel, her own group tour company. 

Joyce loved traveling and trips to the beach. Her favorite time was spent entertaining family and friends.  She served at Hurdtown United Methodist Church as a Trustee, Lay person, and Youth Group Leader.  Joyce also served as a Girl Scout leader for many years.  She was best known for going above and beyond to help anyone in need for as long as necessary.   Joyce additionally enjoyed reading and collecting lighthouses.

Joyce received a second chance at life sixteen years ago when she received a kidney transplant which extended her time with us.   Because of this, the family asks those wishing to honor Joyce to consider making a donation in her name to the ” Donate for Life” charity.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 29th, at Bermingham Funeral Home in Wharton New Jersey between the hours of 4:00pm-7:30pm, with a memorial service to follow at 7:30pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane’s honor can be made to “Donate Life”.  The family is planning a Celebration of Life to honor Joyce’s memory at a later date.
