Dover:  John George Dunning, born on March 28, 1930, in Callao, Peru, passed away peacefully at his home in Dover, New Jersey, on July 8, 2025. He was 95 years old. John spent the last 50 years of his life in Dover, a town he came to love and call home.

He passed surrounded by his loving family and those who meant the most to him, bringing his long and meaningful life to a peaceful close.

John “Papa” was the beloved husband of his wife, Rosa, for 70 years, and they shared 75 years together.

He was a devoted father to his three children: Liz, Frank, and George. He was also a cherished grandfather to Richard, Rosemarie, Stefanie, Michael, Kira, Jenifer, Brittany, Chelsea, and Frankie, a proud great-grandfather to 14, and a great-great-grandfather to two.

John was predeceased by four siblings. In his early twenties, he served in the Peruvian Navy for five years. He was a dedicated family man who spent his days lovingly caring for those he held dear.

Visitation will be held 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A funeral mass will be held 10am on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church, 4 Richards Avenue, Dover, NJ 07801.

A private final service will be held at a later date.
