Joan (Luzenburg) McCurdy

Elinor Joan Staehle McCurdy of Rockaway Township passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Regency Grande Nursing Home, in Dover.  She was 88 years of age.

Joan was born in Newark, raised in East Orange, NJ, and lived in Rockaway Township for 50 years.

She was a medical administrator for Townsquare Orthopedics and retired in 1995 after 20 years of service.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway where she shared her faith and her passion for music as a soloist in the church choir.  Joan enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill Staehle in 1997 and her sister Doris Luzenburg. Later in life she married Robert McCurdy and they enjoyed their golden years travelling together.

She is joyfully remembered by her children, William J. Staehle, Jr. and his wife Debra of Montclair, Cynthia Fordyce and her husband Bob of Boonton Township, Darlene Palicz and her husband Mike of Brookfield, CT.

She leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Henry Fordyce, Raymond Fordyce and his wife Kara, Joseph Staehle, Michael Palicz, Samantha Palicz, Carly Palicz and great grandson Cohen Fordyce.

She is also survived by her sister Carole VerSprill of Verona.

Visitation will be held 6-8pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.

A funeral service will be held 10am on Friday at The First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway.

Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, E. Hanover.
