Jefferson Twp: Jean A. Madden passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at her home. She was 91 years of age.
Jean was born and raised in West Orange, NJ where she lived until moving to the Lake Hopatcong section of Jefferson in 1990.
Mrs. Madden worked for Provident Life Insurance in Bloomfield for 20 years as a claims adjuster. She later worked for Bell Atlantic as a 411 operator for 15 years until fully retiring.
Jean was a member of the Jefferson Twp. Rescue Squad Auxiliary, the Lakeland Seniors and the NJ State Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, crocheting , playing cards and watching her game shows and especially “Dancing with the Stars”.
Predeceased by her parents, James Laing and Mae (née Zeevalk), her brother James and her daughter-in-law Vicky Madden
Survived by her two children:
Kimberley Madden-Finnegan (Tom) of Lake Hopatcong.
Robert C. Madden of Ft. Meyers, FL.
Three Grandchildren:
Lindsay Shirvanian and husband Dan.
Russell Finnegan and wife Sheila.
Jennifer Madden.
Also survived by three great grandchildren; Liam Shirvanian, Norah & Reid Finnegan.
Visitation will be held 4-8pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, NJ 07885.
A funeral service will be held 10am on Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
