James Stanlick, Jr. Obituary

James Arthur Stanlick Jr., aged 67, passed away July 30, 2025, in Denville, NJ, after a long illness.  His family is devastated by this loss but eternally grateful for the time they shared with him. In his 67 years, Jim filled life with adventure, laughter and love.

He made the world a better place simply by being in it.  His kindness, humor, and unwavering support touched countless lives, especially those of his family - his wife of 47 years, Paula, his children and their partners - daughter Sarah (Michael) and son Justin (Katie).  He was a loyal friend to many including his longtime shop foreman and dear friend, Mark, whom he considered extended family.

The only thing bigger than his personality was his heart.  His laugh was infectious.  He made his family and those close to him feel loved and so special.  We shined a little bit brighter because he was such a light.

He was a man of many hobbies, interests, and pursuits, and he inspired his family with his insatiable curiosity.  In his over 45 years of welding craft, he created many exceptional projects including exhibitions for the The Intrepid Museum and stadium metalwork for Rutgers University.  He was an educator, too, as a professional welding teacher, the owner and mentor of the Jersey Wildcats Junior Hockey Club, and as a level 4 coach for USA Hockey.  And let us not forget how much he loved to feed people and his amazing pancakes.
