James Robert Moloney, 76, passed away on Thursday July 21, 2022, after valiantly fighting cancer.
James was born to Nora and Robert Moloney in 1945. He grew up in Queens, NY.
He was a veteran and served with honor during the Vietnam War. He received The National Defense Service Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. He also received 2nd Class Gunner, Expert Pistol, and Marksman Rifle.
James worked as a Splicer in Queens, NY. He was hired by NY Telephone after his military service and retired from Verizon after 34 years of service.
After retirement he moved to Lake Hopatcong which he loved. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and the outdoors with friends and family. When he was younger, he enjoyed repairing, building and customizing Volkswagens. He was always eager to help his friends and neighbors.
James was predeceased by his mother, Nora and father, Robert. He is survived by his sons Michael and Brian. His daughter in law Feli. He also leaves behind his grandson Nicholas, and his granddaughters Isabella and Sophia.
He is also survived by his brother Richard, his wife Eileen, and his nieces Colleen and Colette.
Visitation will be held 4-9pm on Monday July 25 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Mass will be held 11am on Tuesday at St. Mary's Church in Wharton. Interment will be private.
