Dover: James Thomas Glenn, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Morristown Medical Center after his battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 82 years of age.
James was born in Dover and dedicated his life to nurturing his family in the Dover community. He served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War, with his service spanning from 1964 to 1966. James volunteered many hours at Sacred Heart School. As the president of the Parent Teacher Association, organizing spaghetti dinners and assisting with bingo, his friendly personality was loved by all. James volunteered at the Recreation Department in Dover. He worked along with his sister, MaryAnn Rich, to provide recreational activities and programs for residents of all ages.
James committed his career to sales. As a young man, he worked in a men's clothing shop in Dover before moving on to sell for Anheuser-Busch. Each day, he worked hard to support his family. He later became an entrepreneur, managing his own video business, and concluded his professional journey as AA Windshield Doctor.
James took pleasure in being an outdoor enthusiast. He was a member of the Mount Allen Hunting Club in Pennsylvania, where he spent numerous hours with friends and family. He relished visiting National Parks and discovering nature. He enjoyed taking trips to investigate new and unknown areas. While sitting on his deck in his backyard, James would share these adventures with his grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, Leo Glenn and Mary Ellen (Herbold) along with four of his siblings; Leo Glenn, Joseph Glenn, Elizabeth Jane Chipko, Eleanor Yanovich and great nephew, Zachary James Rich.
He is survived by his wife Joanna (née Catizone) of 60 years and his two children; Jason T. and his wife Dawn & Jennifer L. Glenn.
He has three dear grandchildren; Reagan, Oliver and Thomas James.
Also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Rich, his brother, Frederick Glenn (Diana), sister-in-law, Emily Kelley along with many nieces and nephews.
