Helen Elaine Hopler, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Tuesday Oct. 19, 2021 after a short, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, at VNA Hospice St Clare’s Hospital in Dover. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was 72 years old.
Helen was born on Aug. 10, 1949, in Dover, NJ to Robert Henderson l., and Marion (Bragg) Henderson Pyle. She was a lifelong resident of Wharton.
Helen was a 1967 graduate of Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, NJ. Helen was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 91, of Wharton, as well as a member of the Wharton Legion Riders.
Helen retired in 2017 after serving 35 years at Picatinny Arsenal. Helen had also previously worked as a Wharton school crossing guard.
Helen enjoyed camping, riding her trike, and spending time with her family.
Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Glenn Hopler Sr., her two children, Glenn Hopler ll, of Mt Arlington, NJ, and Amy Roberts and husband Philip of Frankford, NJ., and 5 grandchildren, whom she adored, Joseph Hook, Katrina, Carolyn, Carissa and Jackson Roberts. She is also survived by her Goddaughter and niece Tammy Roe, sisters Alice White of Swiftwater, Pa., and Dawn Brakefield of Prescott, Az. Along with many more nieces and nephews. Helen is predeceased by her parents Robert Henderson l. and Marion Pyle, a stepfather John Pyle, brothers Robert Henderson ll and Ward Henderson.
A memorial visitation will be held 2-4pm on Saturday October 23, 2021 at Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.
