Jefferson Township: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hans Rech at St. Clare’s Hospital/Denville on Friday, May 16, 2025. Born in Denville, Hans was a longtime resident of the Lake Hopatcong Section of Jefferson Township. He was 90 years of age.
Hans was a Korean War Army veteran.
He worked for Picatinny Arsenal as a machinist and a Black Label Boiler Operator, retiring in 1998.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Lake Hopatcong. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Predeceased by his wife, Rose (née Prymowicz) in 2021, his sons, William and Robert J., as well as his sister, Barbara Young.
He leaves behind his two sons:
John and his wife Barbara of Mendham.
Thomas of Dingman’s Ferry, PA.
Also survived by his 5 grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Thomas, Eric & Reagan, and his brother Herman, his wife Mary Ann of Clifton.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 204 Espanong Rd, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849.
Private Entombment with his wife at the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum has already taken place.
