Wharton: Gloria D. Coad passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 in Dover. She was 75 years of age.
Gloria was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania to the late John Chesonis and Phyllis Wozniewicz John. She was raised in Shenandoah and moved to Morristown, NJ in 1966, settling in Wharton with her husband Rich in 1971. She later moved to Pennsylvania in 2009 and then back to New Jersey after the passing of her husband.
Gloria was the Water and Sewer Clerk for the Borough of Wharton for many years, retiring in 2009.
Gloria loved seeing her friends daily at Rose's Luncheonette for breakfast, she enjoyed reading, playing computer games, playing Words with Friends and loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Survivor and Big Brother. Gloria's greatest joy was her grandchildren, there was nothing she wouldn't do for them.
Predeceased by her husband Rich in 2017. She is also predeceased by three of her siblings; Rick Chesonis, Stephen Chesonis and Cynde Ball.
Survived by her daughter, Michelle Roper and her husband Kurt.
Two Grandsons: Daniel Pettenger and his wife Jackie, Tyler Roper.
Brother: John Chesonis and his wife Patricia (Patti).
Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held 3-6pm on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.
A funeral service will be held 10:30am on Monday, August 26, 2024 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ.
