Glenn Hopler, Sr. Obituary

Wharton:  Glenn Charles Hopler Sr., 75, a devoted father, Pop Pop and uncle, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at University Hospital in Newark, NJ surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 3rd, 1950, in Dover, NJ.  Glenn was the son of Merrill Hopler and Ruth Mae (Kagan) Hopler.   He grew up in Denville and Mine Hill before settling in Wharton, NJ, in 1972, where he remained a lifelong resident.  A proud graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1968.  Glenn was an active member of the Dover Sons of American Legion Post 27 and the Dover Legion Riders.

Glenn worked at Rongene Mold & Plastics Corporation in Wharton before taking an early retirement. He had a deep love for the outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his motorcycles.  He was known as a true “Mr. Fix-it”.  Glenn was always willing to lend a hand; whether it was repairing lawn equipment, tackling odd jobs, or building custom furniture with his woodworking skills for family, friends and neighbors.

Glenn is survived by his two children; Glenn Hopler II of Wharton, NJ and Amy Roberts and her husband Philip of Frankford, NJ.  He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren; Joseph Hook, Katrina Roberts, Carolyn Roberts, Carissa Roberts and Jackson Roberts who lovingly knew him as Pop Pop.  Glenn is also survived by his brother Wayne Hopler of Oneonta, NY; Goddaughter Tammy Roe of Swiftwater, PA; sister-in-law Alice White of Swiftwater, PA; and many more cherished nieces and nephews.

Glenn is predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years Helen Henderson Hopler, his parents Merrill and Ruth Mae (Kagan) Hopler; his brother’s Leslie, Dalton, Virgil, Butch, Keith and sister Donna Mower.
