Wharton: Glenn Corbett, age 72, died on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Morristown Medical Center, following a long battle with heart disease.
Mr. Corbett was a 1974 graduate of Georgetown University and a 1977 graduate of Seton Hall Law School. He was a Certified Workers Compensation Law Attorney before retiring in 2013. He practiced primarily in the Division of Workers' Compensation and, occasionally, in the Appellate Division of Superior Court.
A leader in the successful fight to keep the Morris County Jail out of his town, he was elected to the Wharton Borough Council in 1992, serving 9 terms until his retirement in 2019. He also served several terms as Council President with occasional stints as Acting Mayor. After retiring from the Council, he continued to serve the Borough as a Commissioner of the Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority.
Glenn was pre-deceased by his parents, Thomas J. and Molly Corbett, his sister, Judy Corbett Barker, his brother Thomas, his grandson Cooper Kravatz and his son-in-law Zac Kravatz.
He is survived by the love of life, his wife, Margie Cooke Corbett.
He also leaves a son, Kevin. His daughters Katie Corbett Tully and her husband Jim & daughter Jenna Corbett Kravatz; and nine grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 3-7pm on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.
A funeral mass will be held 10am on Saturday, March 1st , 2025 at St. Mary’s Church, Wharton.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mine Hill.
