A graduate of the County College of Morris (CCM) and William Paterson University, he valued education and lifelong learning. He remained deeply connected to his roots, actively participating in organizing his high school class reunions, where he nurtured cherished friendships and celebrated shared memories.
Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, embodying the values of dedication and honor throughout his life.
Jerry’s most recent career was spent at the Dover Library, where he shared his passion for knowledge and literature with the community. His work there was more than a job; it was a calling. He touched countless lives by fostering a love for books, poetry, and the arts.
In his free time, Jerry found joy in the beauty of the world. A talented poet and photographer, he had a unique ability to capture life’s fleeting moments in both words and images. His artistry was a reflection of his gentle spirit and profound appreciation for the simple wonders around him.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Allan Dale Libby and Genevieve Libby, as well as his two sisters, Barbara A. Hric and Blanche E. Libby. He is survived by his brother, Robert Libby, and sister-in-law, Jessie Libby; his brother-in-law, Glenn Hric; his two nieces, Heather Fishman and Sherah Hric-Pereira; his nephew, Dale Zander; and two great-nieces, Kaitlyn and Alexa Fishman.
A beloved uncle, brother, and friend, Jerry brought warmth, humor, and quiet strength to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and the countless lives he touched.
